Sumo Donuts was founded with a simple yet ambitious goal - to redefine the donut experience. Our journey began in 2019 when, after a summer of travelling through the USA, we decided to experiment and make our own. After a lot of trial and error, we perfected our recipe and were ready to test them out.
This was the covid years, and so we started with Facebook, and the orders soon came flying in with fantastic feedback.
So, sparked by this initial success, we decided to go all in on our donut dream, sell the family home and relocate to the coast to open the first Sumo Donut shop in Canterbury.
